Career Courses
The most popular courses in Canada among foreign students are vocational programs (VEC). The program lasts from 1 to 3 years and usually involve trainingat related work sites. These courses are perfect for students intending to work in Canada due to the practical content with a focus on the labor market.
Some vocational or technical schools offer university transfer programs that allow students to attend the first two years in college before they enroll in university to complete the last two years of the 4 year program. Many Canadians choose to begin their study at the top college and then transfer to universities.
The Canadian Association of Colleges (ACCC) accredits and oversees the quality of public colleges. All these institutions primarily train students in the commercial, industrial and public service. They sometimes offer certificates, diplomas, and bachelor degree as well as postgraduate degree.
Admission requirements
The basic prerequisite for entrance to college or university is an intermediate level of English demonstrated by TOEFL or IELTS scores. Some English schools offer a bridge program to the colleges, which means you are accepted to these colleges without writing TOEFL.
